  WARNING
Observe the safety precautions for working on airbags → Chapter.
–  Move front seat as far up and to the rear as possible.
   
–  Unclip cover panel -1- of connector point beneath front seat.
–  To do this use removal wedge -3409-.
–  Disengage cover panel -1- on corrugated tube end.

–  Unfasten cable retainer -2- at connector point by pressing retaining tabs -arrows- on both sides.

  WARNING
Before handling airbag units (for example to attach the connector), the person concerned must „discharge static“, for example by briefly grasping hold of door striker plate.
–  Remove front seat → Chapter.
–  Clamp the seat in the bracket for the seat repair -T20172/5-.

–  Use removal wedge -3409- to unfasten cable retainer -1-.
–  Detach the wire holder -1- from the corrugated tube -2-.

–  Unscrew the bolt -1-.
–  Detach cable clip -2- from corrugated tube -3-.

–  Unfasten fabric tape -2- in area of -arrow-.
–  Open corrugated tube -1-.
