  WARNING
t  Disconnect battery earth strap before working on the electrical system.
t  Before coming into contact with the airbag unit, the mechanic should eliminate any electrostatic charge accumulated by touching a metal object connected to earth (e.g. a drainpipe, heating pipe or a metal support)
  Note
t  Pay attention to codes (and consult when necessary) for vehicles with coded radio/radio navigation system (RNS).
t  Before working with the airbag system, always read the safety precautions → Chapter.
–  With ignition switched off, disconnect earth connection from battery.
–  Remove the front seat .

–  Release the carpet -4- and the soundproofing mats around the sensor.
–  Detach the connector -2- and remove the bolts -3-.
–  Remove the side impact airbag sensor -1-.
