Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010- (2 - 50 Nm)
  Note
t  The compressor bracket and related components can be removed and installed without having to open the refrigerant circuit
t  For removing the Poly-V belt → Rep. gr.13.

1 - Bracket for alternator and air conditioning / Climatronic control compressor
Removing:
–  Removing the alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27
–  Remove the compressor from the support and fix it to the body with a suitable tool (e.g. soldering wire) → Fig..
–  Loosen the bolts that fix the bracket to the cylinder block
Installing:
–  Replace fixing bolts.
–  Tighten the hexagon head screws in the following sequence: -A, B, C, D-.

q   50 Nm
q   2 units
3 - Hexagon bolt M10x45
q   45 Nm
q   2 units
4 - Air conditioning compressor (Climatronic)
q   Removing:
–  Remove the hexagon bolts → Item.
–  Remove the compressor from the support and fix it to the body with a suitable tool (e.g. soldering wire) → Fig..
q   Routing of poly V-belt → Fig.
5 - Hexagon M8x100 bolt
q   25 Nm
q   3 units
6 - Dowel sleeves
q   2 units
q   Make sure the cylinder head supports are correctly seated
7 - Tensioning roller
8 - Tensioning element for the tensioning roller

   
Securing air conditioner compressor to body
If the air conditioner compressor is removed and the refrigerating agent circuit does not open, the compressor must be fixed to the body with an suitable tool (e.g. welding wire).
Make sure that the coolant hoses of the compressor are not taut.

  Note
When installing the ribbed belt, ensure it is correctly seated on the pulleys.
