Removing, checking and installing condensation drain hose
Removing, checking and installing condensation drain hose
  Note
t  This vehicle is only fitted with one condensation drain.

t  The condensation drain valve -C- has no flap.
t  In the event of moisture problems in the passenger compartment, check the following components in addition to the condensation drain:
t  plenum chamber water drainage → Chapter.
t  the correct fitting of the plenum chamber cover and the cover for the air inlet opening, also check for damage → Chapter.
t  the correct fitting of the dust and pollen filter and if it is dirty → Chapter.
t  the forced ventilation vents in the boot → Chapter.
t  the operation of the air retention flap → Chapter and the air recirculation flap → Chapter → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
t  the signal for detecting windscreen wiper operation Air conditioning control unit -J301-, Climatronic control unit -J255- → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
t  Check the temperature of the air leaving the evaporator using the measurement value of the Air temperature sender, evaporator -G263- in the conditions of use described by the client, or the operating conditions of use described below in the Air conditioning control unit -J301-, Climatronic control unit -J255- → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
t  Select the lowest temperature possible for the passenger and driver side
t  A medium level of the fresh air blower (approx. 7 V) → Vehicle diagnostic tester
t  If the measurement value of the sender is too low (for an atmospheric temperature above 0°C, less than 0°C for a long period of time) or too high (even if the air conditioning functions correctly above about 10°C, for example), see the notes for the refrigeration performance test → Chapter.
Removing, testing
  E87-10017
–  Remove the trim -1- in the footwell, right side → Rep. gr.68.
  E87-10079
–  Fold the floor covering back in the area of the condensation drainage hose until the tube can be seen → Bodywork, interior fitting work; Rep. gr.68.
–  Check that condensation drain -B- is correctly routed (eliminate any cross-sectional constrictions) and check for dirt.
–  Cover area beneath opening -D- (for condensation drain -C-) with absorbent paper to prevent any water from running beneath floor covering.
–  Remove condensation drain -B-.
–  Use e.g. a piece of wire to check for dirt in condensation drain of air conditioning unit -A-.
  E87-10017
–  Check the distance between noise insulation mat attached to the middle tunnel and the condensed water drainage valve -C- on the opening in the floor plate -D-. An adequate size of the clearance must be provided so that the condensed water can flow out of the water drainage -C- valve.
Installation
Install in reverse order, observing following:
–  Install condensation drain -B- so that it is neither twisted nor crushed.
–  Ensure during fitting of the floor mat that the condensation drainage tube is not crushed -B-.
