Main board for the heating control: removing and fitting Removal:

–  Move the rotary control for setting the temperature -A- to the „cold stop“ position. –  Remove glove compartment → General body repair, interior; Rep. gr.68. –  Remove the vent from the foot well area on the passenger side. –  Remove the Heating control unit -J65-, Vehicles ►02.2009 → Chapter or vehicles 03.2009 ► → Chapter

–  Release the flexible axle insert -H- –  Release the insert -D- for the Bowden cable sheath -E- and remove the Bowden cable sheath from the allotment.

–  Release ball at Bowden cable -F- from actuating lever -G-. –  Remove the main board for the heating control from the centre console. Installation   Note t  There are transmission gears fitted on the main board for the heating controls and in the heating system. Rotating the air distribution control makes the flexible axle rotate twice. t  Due to the fact that when the instrument panel is fitted the flap positions cannot be seen, take into account the air distribution flap positions when connecting the flexible axle to the main board.

–  Connect the Bowden cable for the temperature flap to the main board -A-. –  Assemble the main board -A- and the control unit -B- → Chapter.

–  Move rotary control -D- to position in which flexible shaft -C- can be inserted in mounting of base plate -A-.

–  Insert the flexible shaft -C- onto the main board -A-. –  Move rotary control -D- to „air to footwell“ position (as shown in illustration). –  Check the position of the flap in the area of the right hand side foot well -E-, the air duct -F- must be completely open. –  If the air duct -F- is closed: –  Detach flexible shaft -C- from base plate -A-. –  Turn the rotating control -D- to the position „air distribution to the windscreen“. –  Insert flexible shaft -C- in base plate -A-. –  Move rotary control -D- to „air to footwell“ position (as shown in illustration). –  Check the position of the flap in the area of the right hand side foot well -E-, the air duct -F- must be completely open. The assembly is carried out in reverse order.
