  Note

The servomotor is supplied as a spare in the position of „fresh air option“. Only when the cogwheel -A- is at the limit -B-, it can then only be inserted correctly into the cogwheel for the fresh air / air retention flap. If the servo motor was removed in any other position or moved while being extracted, it may not be refitted. If the cogwheel -A- of the servomotor is not at maximum -B- of „fresh air option“, put it in this position for fitting.
Set the wheel of the servomotor in position „fresh air“
–  Connect the detached servomotor to the vehicle cable harness (via the available connector)
–  Connect ignition (the heating control unit -J65-/ the air conditioning control unit -J301- activate the servomotor and move it to the position „Maximum fresh air“).
–  Wait until the cogwheel -A- of the servomotor reaches the limit -B-„fresh air option“.
–  Switch ignition OFF.
Installing
–  Switch ignition OFF.
–  Connect the servomotor to the vehicle cable harness via the available connector.

–  Insert a hand into the air inlet opening for the air recirculation and move the fresh air / air recirculation flap -A- into the position „fresh air option“ (the opening for the air recirculation option is closed).
–  Fit the servo motor -B- in the opposition direction to the arrow on the allotments -C- and onto the cogwheel -D-
  A80-0252
–  In order to move the cogwheel on the servomotor -A- onto the cogwheel of the fresh air / air recirculation flap, the short tooth -C- of the servomotor cogwheel must coincide with space between the teeth -D- of the cogwheel on the fresh air/air recirculation flap shaft-D-.
–  Lay wiring harness so that it cannot come into contact with moving components (e.g. servomotor lever).
  A87-0695
–  Fit the bracket -A-. Taking into account that the support guide -D- is fitted correctly into the allotment in the air inlet opening -E- and that the support correctly inserts into both slots -B- and -C-.
–  Check the servomotor. The bracket -A- must hold it in its position. When they are not installed free of play, eliminate the play at hand with a little foam that is applied to the inner side of the fixing points -F- of the bracket -A-.
  Note
t  The position of the servomotor (and the flap) is not visible when the glove compartment is mounted. For this purpose, check operation before mounting the glove box. (in vehicles without air conditioning) or (in vehicles with manual climate control)
t  If both cogwheels are not fitted in the correct position, the fresh air / air recirculation flap will not reach the two final positions or the servomotor will function in an irregular manner and may jam.
–  Switch on the ignition.
–  Check function of the servomotor of the fresh air/air recirculation flap -V154- (of the servomotor of the air recirculation -V113-) and activation via the heating control unit -J65- (in vehicles without air conditioning) or the air conditioning control unit -J301- (in vehicles with manual climate control)
  A80-0253
–  Actuate the servomotor until the notched wheel -D- is located at the limit „fresh air intake mode“ or am at the limit „re-circulated air mode“ and check the function of the fresh air in re-circulated air / take flap -A-. This must be open (re-circulated air mode) or closed (fresh air intake mode).
Re-install all components in reverse order of the removal operations.
