q   There are different versions of additional air heating: Vehicles equipped with Diesel engines prior to November 2006 (gradual conversion) activate the heating element for additional heating -Z35- by means of the additional air heating control unit -J604-. Vehicles with Diesel engines produced after November 2006 (gradual conversion), carry a heating element for additional heating -Z35- with three phases;high temperature relay -J360-, and low temperature relay -J359-, this element is activated by the relevant engine control unit through the relays and → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
q   Test functioning of the additional air heating control unit -J604- carry out self-diagnosis. → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 in the function "Guided fault finding".
