Checking semi-automatic toothed belt tensioning roller > < Removing and installing toothed belt|Removal
Installation
Installation
–  Check to see if TDC mark on fly wheel and the reference mark coincide.
  Note!
To loosen and tighten the camshaft toothed wheel never use distribution adjusting tool -T20038- to hold it. Use tool -T20018A-.
–  Loosen camshaft sprocket securing bolt 1/2 turn.
   
–  Put a locking bolt (Ø 6 mm) through the opening in the rear protector of the toothed belt and separate the camshaft toothed wheel from its cone with a plastic hammer blow.
–  Place toothed belt over the crankshaft toothed belt sprocket, intermediate shaft pulley, injection pump toothed wheel and the tensioning roller (observe turning direction).
–  Place the camshaft toothed wheel along with the toothed belt and secure with the new fixing bolt without tightening it (the camshaft toothed wheel can still move).
–  Fit the idler bolt to torque 25 Nm.

–  Tension toothed belt. To do this, turn tool -U-30009A- to the right until the cut-out and the projection -arrows- are facing each other.
–  Tighten the toothed belt and tighten the nut on the tensioning roller to tightening torque 20 Nm.
  Note!
If the excentric has been turned too far, the tensioning roller will have to be completely slackened and tightened again. The eccentric should not simply be wound back the distance that it had been overwound.
–  Re-check the TDC mark on the flywheel.
–  Tighten the new bolt which secures the camshaft toothed wheel to tightening torque 45 Nm.
  Note!
To loosen and tighten the camshaft toothed wheel never use adjusting tool -T20038- to hold it. Use tool -T20018A-.
–  Remove distribution adjustment ruler -T20038-.
–  Remove the -U-20003- tool from the injection pump sprocket.
–  Turn the crankshaft two turns in the direction of engine rotation and re-set at TDC cylinder 1.
Check if the following coincide:
l  The OT (TDC) mark on the flywheel
l  The adjusting ruler on the camshaft
l  The pin in the injection pump toothed wheel
l  Tensioning roller adjuster (cut-out/projection)

–  If the cut-out and projection do not coincide, re-tension the tensioner roller, securing it with tool -U-30009A-, release the securing bolt, turn the eccentric clockwise until the cut-out and the projection coincide, then tighten the securing bolt to 20 Nm.
–  Turn the crankshaft two turns in the direction of engine rotation and re-set at TDC cylinder 1.
–  Fit toothed belt protective cover, the damper/pulley (observe securing), the ribbed belt tensioner roller, the coolant pump pulley and the cylinder head cover.
–  Repeat the check.
–  Check beginning of injection on the injection pump: → Rep. Gr.23
