Removing and installing vibration damper
Removing and installing vibration damper
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.
»Carry out the following work sequence«
Removal:
–  Remove Poly V-belt → Chapter
  W00-0427
–  Unscrew coolant line bolts -arrows-.
–  Move coolant lines aside slightly.
–  Remove charge air pipe »cold« side → Chapter.
–  Remove the protective elements of the vibration damper.
  N21-10321
–  Remove the screws -arrows- of the vibration damper. Counterhold on the bolt of the crankshaft sprocket using a ring spanner.
  Note
To loosen and to tighten the vibration damper, hold it on the centre bolt using a ring spanner.
–  Remove vibration damper .
Installation
Installation is in the reverse sequence of removal. Note the following:
  A13-10644
–  Install vibration damper with new bolts → Electronic parts catalogue.
l  Can only be fitted in one position: The borehole of the vibration damper must be positioned above the raised section of the toothed belt sprocket -arrow-.

  A13-0134

1) Renew bolts
2) 90° is equivalent to a quarter turn
