Assembly overview - catalytic converter with non-engine-mounted particulate filter (right-hand drive vehicles) |
Note t
After working on the exhaust system, ensure that the system is not under stress and that there is sufficient clearance to the bodywork.
t
If necessary, loosen double and single clamps and align silencers and exhaust pipe so that sufficient clearance is maintained to the bodywork and the support rings are evenly loaded → Chapter.
t
If the catalytic converter is replaced with non-engine-mounted particulate filter or the pressure differential sender -G505-, the pressure differential sender -G505- must be adopted using the vehicle diagnostics tester in all cases: Guided functions; Adapt pressure differential sender -G505-.
t
Removing and installing exhaust manifold with turbocharger → Chapter.
t
The flexible joint in the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10° - otherwise it can be damaged.
t
Renew seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.
