Removing and installing throttle valve module -J338-

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Base -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-10380
t  Torque wrench (5... 50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
–  Remove the intake hose → Item from the throttle valve control unit -J338- releasing the spring type clip → Item with the spring type clip pliers -VAS 5024A-.
  W00-0427
–  Disconnect electrical connection -1- on throttle valve control unit -J338--3-.
–  Unscrew the fastening bolts -2- and remove the intake manifold from the throttle control unit -J338--3-.
Installing
–  Place a new seal on the throat of the intake manifold.
  N24-10431
–  Tighten securing bolts -2- to 7 Nm.
–  Connect electrical connection -1- on throttle valve control unit -J338--3-.
–  Fit the intake hose → Item on the throttle valve control unit -J338- tightening the spring type clip → Item with the spring type clip pliers -VAS 5024A-.
If a new throttle control unit has been fitted:
–  Erase adaptive values, and adapt the engine control unit -J623- to the throttle control unit.
