Crankshaft: removal and refitting
1 - Semibearings 1, 2, 4 and 5
q   Fit caps without a lubrication groove
q   For engine blocks with lubrication grooves
q   Do not swap the worn semibearings (mark them)
2 - 65 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°)
q   Replace
q   To measure the radial play, tighten to a torque of 65 Nm, but do not retighten
3 - Caps
q   Cap 1: Pulley side
q   Cap 3 with edges for drive washers
q   The lips of the semibearings of the engine block must line up with those of the caps
4 - Semibearing 3
q   For caps without lubrication grooves
q   For engine blocks with lubrication grooves
5 - Drive washer
q   For cap 3
q   Note the fixing
6 - Generator wheel
q   For speed transmission
q   Replace if worn
7 - 10 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°)
q   Replace
8 - Pin
q   Check the protuberance of the pin above the crankshaft → Fig.
9 - Crankshaft
q   Axial play, new: 0.007…0.017 mm
   Wear limit: 0.37 mm
q   Measure the radial play with Plastigage
   New: 0.003…0.08 mm
   Wear limit: 0.17 mm
q   Do not turn the crankshaft when measuring the radial play
q   Crankshaft measurements → Chapter
10 - Drive washer
q   For engine block, bearing 3

   
Checking the protuberance of the pin above the crankshaft
Pin protuberance -3- above the crankshaft
   a = 2.5 … 3.0 mm
