Installing > < Removing, installing and tensioning toothed belt

Removing
Removing
–  Remove air filter → Chapter.
–  Remove right sound insulation tray → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.50
–  Removing ribbed belt → Chapter
–  Remove toothed belt upper and lower guards.
   
–  Remove ribbed belt pulley and toothed belt sprocket securing bolt, counter-hold on ribbed belt pulley with -T20018A- when doing this.
–  Remove ribbed belt pulley. Secure toothed belt sprocket with bolt again.
–  Mark direction of rotation (DOR) of toothed belt.

–  Position camshaft sprockets on the marks.
  N13-0178
–  Position the crankshaft at top-dead-centre (TDC) for No. 1 cylinder. The inclined tooth on the sprocket must align with the mark on the sealing flange.
  N13-0177
–  Loosen tensioning roller securing bolt -arrow- and release tension/loosen the toothed belt with the aid of a socket and take off.
  Note!
The tensioning roller must be removed if the toothed belt is to be renewed.
