  Note
t  Observe use-by date of sealant.
t  Replace gaskets.
t  The sump must be installed 5 minutes after applying the silicone sealant.
   
–  Cut off tube nozzle at upper marking (nozzle approx. about 3 mm).
–  Apply the silicone-base sealant to the clean surface of the oil sump, proceeding as shown. The sealant bead must:
t  have a thickness of 2 - 3 mm
t  Pass next to the bolt holes, through the inner side -arrows-
  Note
The sealant bead must not be more than 3 mm thick. Otherwise, the excess sealant may enter the sump, obstructing the oil pump intake pipe.

–  Apply silicone-base sealant to the clean surface of the oil sump, proceeding as shown.
  Note
The sealant bead must be applied especially carefully to the part of the rear sealing flange.

–  Fit sump immediately and tighten securing bolts in stated sequence.
1 - Bolts -1 ... 20-: diagonally pre-tighten to 5 Nm.
2 - Tighten sump/gearbox bolts -arrows- to 45 Nm.
3 - Tighten all bolts -1... 20-: diagonally to 15 Nm.
  Note
t  When installing the oil sump into the engine, note that the sump is flush with the cylinder block on the flywheel side.
t  After fitting the oil sump, the sealant must dry for approx. 30 minutes. After this period, engine oil may be thrown out.
t  When engine oil is drained, and not extracted using a used oil suction pump, the drain plug sealing ring must be replaced to avoid leaks.
t  Observe disposal regulations!
–  When filling with engine oil, the following notes must be observed when first starting the engine:

t  While the oil pressure warning light iin the instrument cluster s lit, the engine may only idle. Do not press accelerator! If not the turbocompressor could suffer damage or break down completely.
t  Only when the warning light goes out will the maximum oil pressure have been attained and the accelerator may be pressed.
Continue installation following reverse order for removing.
