Removing and installing radiator >

Engine cooling / Cooling system

Removal:
–
Loosen the engine cover at the locations
-arrows-
and remove.
–
Open intake system cover by carefully releasing fasteners
-arrows-
.

Remove securing bolts
-arrows-
for intake system
-1-
and take connecting hose
-2-
out of guide.
–
Remove upper securing bolts
-upper arrows-
of cowling.
–
Remove the soundproofing or the underbody protection
→ Bodywork, exterior assembly work; Rep. gr.50
.
–
Disconnect connector
-1-
and free wiring.
–
Remove connecting hose on
»hot side«
from charge air pipe. To do this, detach hose clips
-1-
.
–
Remove connecting hose on
»cold side«
from charge air pipe. To do this, loosen hose clips.

Unscrew lower bolts
-lower arrows-
.
–
Remove cowling together with radiator fans downwards.
Vehicles with 2 radiator fans
–
Disconnect electrical connector
-1-
and free electrical wiring.
–
Remove the nuts
-arrows-
and remove the radiator fan.
Vehicles with one radiator fan
–
Unscrew bolts
-arrows-
and remove radiator fan.
Specified torque
-arrows-
6 Nm
Installation
Installation is in the reverse sequence of removal.
