  WARNING
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions:
t  Route all the various lines and electrical wiring so that they are in their original positions.
t  e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, activated charcoal filter system, coolant and refrigerant, brake fluid, vacuum.
t  Ensure that there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
  Note
t  When the engine is hot the cooling system is under pressure. If necessary, relieve pressure before commencing repair work.
t  Hoses are secured with spring-type clips. In case of repair, only use spring-type clips.
t  Spring-type clip pliers -VAS 6499- or hose clip pliers -VAS 6340- are recommended for installation of spring-type clips.
t  Coolant hoses should be free from tension when installing, so that they do not come into contact with other components (observe markings on coolant connection and hose).
Perform cooling system leakage check with cooling system tester -VAG 1274B-, the adaptor -VAG 1274/8- and the adaptor -VAG 1274/9-.
