Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Insertion device -T10208-, see equivalent → Anchor.
t  Wrench kit -3337-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Extractor -T10055A-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Seal extractor -T 40195-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.
t  Kit -T10133-, see equivalent → Anchor

   
t  Injector extractor tool -T10402-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removal:
–  Loosen the engine cover at the locations -arrows- and remove.
–  Remove the sound insulation of the injector valves.
–  Only remove the injector (Piezo injectors) where the seal has to be replaced → Chapter.
–  Push the respective return line a little to the side.
Adhere strictly to rules of cleanliness. No dirt must be allowed to get into the disconnected fuel return lines or the open connections on the injectors (piezo injectors).
  Caution
Proceed very carefully to prevent unnecessary dismantling or further damage.
Adhere strictly to rules of cleanliness. No dirt must enter the injector bore in the cylinder head cover.
First remove leaked oil or fuel with workshop equipment.

–  Apply puller -T10055A- with injector remover -T10402--1- and -2- as shown in illustration and pull injectors out upwards by tapping gently.
–  Using great pressure, screw oil seal extractor -T40195- as far as possible by hand into seal.

Pull the injector seal upwards by tapping gently using the seal extractor -T40195-, the adapter -T101333/2- and the slide hammer -T10133/3-.
–  After removal, check whether the spring washer is still on the old seal.
If not, check that the spring washer is not still on the injector seat.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:
  Caution
Proceed very carefully to prevent unnecessary dismantling or further damage.
Keep in mind that the cylinder head cover is made of plastic.
A plastic cylinder head cover is damaged easily during repairs.
Check the cylinder head cover for damage.
–  First fit the new injector seal by hand.
–  Then drive in the new sealing ring using the insertion device -T10208/2- by carefully pressing to the stop.
