Removing and installing intake manifold (vehicles with intake manifold flap -V157-) t  Removing → Anchor t  Installing → Anchor Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  T30 socket -T10405-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Base -3314-, see equivalent → Anchor t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.

Removing –  Loosen the engine cover at the locations -arrows- and remove.   Caution Make sure that no wiring connections are damaged when disconnecting the connectors. Otherwise the whole wiring harness will need to be renewed. Do not compress the pliers -3314- too firmly to separate the connectors, otherwise the support sleeve may be damaged.

Altea - Altea XL - Leon –  Unscrew the securing bolts -arrows- and put the coolant return line to the side.

All vehicles (continued): –  Remove securing bolts -arrows-.

–  Unplug electrical connection -2- from the fuel pressure sender -G 247--C-.   Note Ignore -item 1-. –  In order not to damage the vacuum lines above the plug connectors of the glow plugs, remove the metal clip for fixing the vacuum line to the intake pipe and place the vacuum line to the side.

–  Open cable guide fasteners -arrows- to free wiring harness.

–  Position pliers -3314- with groove -arrow A- on support sleeve shoulder -arrow B- and pull plugs off glow pin plugs.

–  Remove the connector of the glow plug carefully -in the direction of the arrow-.

–  Unhook the vacuum line -arrows- and set it aside.

Ibiza –  Hang out the coolant return hose -arrows- and move the coolant line to one side.

–  Unplug the connector -arrow- of intake manifold flap motor -V157-. Remove rail element (high-pressure accumulator) → Chapter.

–  Disconnect the connector of the throttle valve control module -J338--2-. –  Remove bolt -3- from dipstick connection.

–  Separate the supercharger air hose -2- that is located between the throttle control unit -J338- and the supercharger air pipe.

–  Remove exhaust gas recirculation connecting pipe. –  To do this, open clip -1-. –  Unscrew the securing bolts of the intake manifold in a diagonal sequence starting from the outside and working inwards with the T30 socket -T10405- → Item. –  Carefully remove intake manifold. Installing Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following: –  Renew seals and gaskets. –  Now you need to insert the securing bolts into the holes in the intake manifold. –  Carefully guide the intake manifold together with the seals and securing bolts to the installation location. –  Tighten the intake manifold securing bolts from the outside to inside in diagonal sequence. Tightening torque → Item Install rail element (high-pressure accumulator) → Chapter.
