  WARNING
t  Always read rules for cleanliness and instructions for working on fuel system → Chapter.
t  Follow these instructions and rules for cleanliness before starting work and while working on the fuel system.
t  Prior to opening the fuel system, place a clean cloth around the joint and carefully loosen this to reduce the pressure.
   
–  Loosen the engine cover at the locations -arrows- and remove.
  Caution
t  Mark the injector correspondence to the cylinder. They must always be re-installed on the same cylinders.
t  Observe rules for cleanliness when working on the injection system.
t  Plug open connections with suitable sealing caps immediately.

–  Remove the plug connectors -arrows- from the injectors, which should be disassembled.
–  Remove high-pressure line between high-pressure accumulator and injectors → Chapter.
  Note
t  Open the return line connection with a narrow screwdriver and long-nosed pliers.
t  Renew clips.

–  To release fuel return line, pull clip out in direction of arrow.

–  Pull fuel return line connections off injectors in direction of arrow.
–  Unscrew securing bolt of clamping piece of injector to be removed.
  Caution
Proceed very carefully to prevent unnecessary dismantling or further damage.
  Caution
Risk of damage if the clamping pieces buckle on the injector
First remove the injector for cylinders 1 and 4, and then the injectors for cylinder 2 and 3.

–  Apply puller -T10055A- with injector remover -T10402--1- and -2- as shown in illustration and pull injectors out upwards by tapping gently.
–  After removal, lay injectors on a clean cloth.
