When carrying out work on the fuel supply system/injection system, strictly follow the following “cleanliness rules”: |
l
Thoroughly clean all unions and the adjacent areas before opening.
l
Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover. Do not use rags that shed fibres!
l
If repairs cannot be completed in one session, all parts and components that are left open should be covered or stored with the greatest of care
l
Only fit clean parts: only take spares out of their packaging just before assembly.
l
Do not use parts that have been stored loose (e.g. in toolboxes etc.).
l
If the system is open: Avoid using compressed air when possible. Do not move vehicle unless absolutely necessary.
l
Also, be extremely careful not to spill petrol on the coolant hoses. If necessary, immediately clean the tubes. Damaged hoses affected must be replaced
