Injector components
1 - Radial compensation, replace if damaged
2 - Teflon seal on the injector (always replace). Never grease or lubricate the ring when installing
3 - Injector connection element
4 - Spacing ring, replace if worn
5 - O-ring (replace, moisten slightly with clean engine oil when fitting)
6 - Support seal (the fuel rail uses the support ring to obtain the necessary force to keep the injector still in the cylinder head).
Always replace the oil seal before assembling the high pressure injector.
–  Carefully remove old Teflon ring using suitable tools (e.g. cut open ring using razor blade, or prise open ring with small screwdriver and then pull off forwards). It is important to ensure that the groove and the continuous ridge in the bottom of the groove are not damaged.
  Note
The injector must be renewed if the groove is damaged.
–  Before fitting the new Teflon seal, clean the combustion remains from the groove of the sealing ring and the injector rod with a clean cloth
  Note
The illustration shows an injector with „L-shaped connector“. To continue the working steps, this need not be taken into consideration, as it is has no significance for the replacement of the Teflon oil seal on the injector.

–  Fit the installation cone -T10133/5- with a new Teflon ring -1- and the injector -2-.
  N24-1564
–  Move the Teflon ring with the installation sleeve -T10133/6- towards the installation cone -T10133/5- until the Teflon ring is inserted into the seal groove. Do not use any lubricants during this procedure.
  Note
Stretch open the Teflon ring to fit onto the injector. The Teflon ring must therefore be compressed again after it has been fitted. This is done in two steps. The procedure is described below.
Step 1 of the calibration of the Teflon ring seal is performed with the calibration sleeve -T10133/7-.
  A24-0571
–  Install the calibration bushing -T10133/7- on the can until it claps, spinning it (some 180) and exert a little pressure. Rotate the calibration sleeve -T10133/7- in the opposite direction.
Step 2 of the calibration of the Teflon ring seal is performed with the calibration sleeve -T10133/8-.
  A24-0574
–  Install the calibration bushing -T10133/8- on the can until it claps, spinning it (some 180) and exert a little pressure. Rotate the calibration sleeve -T10133/8- in the opposite direction.
–  Renew O-rings on injector and spacer sleeve. Lubricate O-rings lightly with clean engine oil before installing.
–  The Teflon ring must not be oiled.
  A24-0575
–  Replace the support ring-1- in the injector and fit the radial compensation-2- in the support ring.
