t  The exhaust pipe can be cut through at the point marked in order to renew the exhaust pipe or the front silencer separately.
t  The cutting point is marked with an indentation on the outside of the exhaust pipe.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Chain-type pipe cutter -VAS 6254-
or
  W00-10229
t  Pneumatic jig-saw -V.A.G 1523A-
Operation process
  WARNING
Wear safety goggles and protective clothing to avoid any risk of injury from sharp metal parts.

–  Cut through exhaust pipe at right angles at separating point -2- using pneumatic sabre saw -V.A.G 1523A- or chain-type pipe cutter -VAS 6254-.
–  Position repair double clamp at side marks -1- and -3- when installing.

–  Install double clamp so that bolt ends do not protrude beyond lower edge of double clamp -arrow-.
–  Align exhaust system free of stress.
