| The fuses in the battery fuse holder should work correctly. |

| Extract the fuel temperature sender switch -G62- Components' fitting locations, → Anchor. |
Note! On removing the connector “engine cold” is simulated. When ignition is connected, the corresponding preheating process will be carried out. |

| Extract the connections from pre-heating elements. |
–
| Connect multimeter to measure voltage between a pre-heating element contact and vehicle earth. |

| Switch on ignition. It should indicate for 20 seconds approx. battery voltage |

| If no voltage is present: |

| Interrogate the fault memory of the new engine control unit and erase the fault memory if necessary -VAS 5051-, Vehicle self-diagnosis, → Chapter |
