Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Oil pressure tester -V.A.G 1342/-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Tension tester -V.A.G 1527/B-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Auxiliary measuring tool -V.A.G 1594/C-, see equivalent → Anchor

Operation process
l  Oil level OK
l  Engine oil temperature, approx 80 ℃.
  Note
Checking operation of and servicing visual and acoustic oil pressure gauge → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
   
–  Remove oil pressure switch -F1- → Chapter.
–  Connect oil pressure tester -V.A.G 1342- to bore for oil pressure switch.
–  Fit oil pressure switch -2- in the oil pressure tester -V.A.G 1342-.
–  Connect brown line -1- of oil pressure tester to earth (–).
–  Connect voltage tester -V.A.G 1527 B- to battery positive (+) and oil pressure switch -F1- using cables from auxiliary test set -V.A.G 1594C-.
l  LED should not light up.
  Note
Renew oil pressure switch -F1- if LED lights up at this stage.
  Note
Observe oil pressure tester and LED while starting engine, as switching point of oil pressure switch may already be exceeded when starting.
l  LED should light up at 0.3 ... 0.6 bar.
–  Renew oil pressure switch -F1- if LED does not light up.
