Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6499-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
–  Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.

–  Remove oil filter element → Booklet 301.
–  Remove pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler -V400- → Chapter.
–  Pull out the dipstick a little and unscrew the bolt -1-.
–  Remove coolant pipe (top left) → Chapter.
–  Hang out the clip -2- using the lever -80 - 200-.
–  Pull oil dipstick guide tube off cylinder block upwards and push to side.

–  Place the drip tray -VAS 6208- under the opening.
–  Release hose clip -1- and detach coolant hose.
–  Place the used oil collection and extraction unit -VAG 1782- below engine.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove oil filter bracket with engine oil cooler.
Installing
Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Fig. „„Oil filter bracket - tightening torque and sequence ““
  Note
t  Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle.
t  Renew gasket.
–  Installing dipstick guide tube
–  Install pump for exhaust gas recirculation cooler -V400- → Chapter.
–  Install coolant pipe (top) → Chapter.
–  Fill up cooling system (or change coolant if the oil cooler has been renewed) → Chapter.
–  Fill up with engine oil and check the oil level .
