Removing balancer shaft module > < Removing and installing oil sump

Oil pump: removing and installing
t  Removing → Anchor
t  Fitting → Anchor
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Circlip pliers (commercially available)
t  M3 bolt
   
Removing
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Remove bolt -arrow- and detach suction pipe from oil pump.

–  Remove circlip -1- using circlip pliers.
–  Pull drive shaft -2- out of oil pump using a magnet -arrow-.
–  Remove bolts -3, 4, 5- and detach oil pump.
  Caution
The idler gear bolt may not be released.
Installing
Reassembly is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter „Sump, oil pump, balance shaft assembly - exploded view“
  Note
t  Fit new O-ring.
t  A damaged or excessively widened securing ring must be replaced.
t  Circlip must lie in base of groove.

–  If there are no dowel sleeves available on the oil pump -arrows-, these have to be inserted.
–  Insert dowel sleeves if balancer shaft module has no dowel sleeves for centring oil pump.
–  Fit the oil sump → Chapter.
