Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Puller -3359-, see equivalent → Anchor
Operation process
–  Pull oil dipstick out.
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Remove vibration damper → Chapter.

–  Using angled ring spanner -1- at vibration damper, turn crankshaft in normal direction of rotation -arrow- until crankshaft is at „TDC“.
  Caution
Risk of destruction due to toothed belt jumping.
Only turn crankshaft in engine direction of rotation.
–  Arrest cam shaft hub with counter holder -3359-.
  Note
Disregard -arrows-.

–  Loosen bolts in the sequence -6 … 1-.
–  Unscrew bolts and remove balancer shaft module with oil pump.
  Note
t  Installing a new balance shaft assembly → Chapter „Installing a new balancer shaft module“.
t  Re-installing a used balance shaft assembly → Chapter „Installing a previously used balancer shaft module again“.
