Removing
–  Now remove the intake manifold → Chapter.
–  Undo and remove the screws in sequence -A … F- and take away from the charged air cooler of the intake manifold.
Installing
l  Tightening torques → Fig.
  Note
t  Renew gasket.
t  For completely sealing the charged air cooler, this is mounted using a workshop press.

–  Adapt the sealing profile -1- on the edge of the charge-air cooler in -arrow-.
–  Ensure that the seal is seated correctly in the intake manifold.
–  Insert the charge-air cooler to the end of the intake manifold without buckling it.

–  Lay down on a wooden block and align the intake manifold on the workshop press table.
l  The housing of the charge-air cooler -1- must be aligned horizontally.
–  Position the support device -3250- on the centre of the charge-air cooler.
–  Carefully press the workshop press piston until the charge-air cooler housing is resting on the intake manifold -2-.
The remaining installation steps are carried out in reverse sequence - note the following points:

–  Tighten the screws of the charge-air cooler → Fig..
