Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hose clamp -3094-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6499-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
–  Remove charge air hose (left-side) -2-.
  Note
Item -1- can be disregarded.
  Note
  A10-10320
Place a cloth under coolant pipe to catch escaping coolant.
–  Clamp off coolant hoses -arrows- with hose clamps -3094- and detach.
–  Pull out the plug -2-.
–  Unscrew the bolt -1- and remove the coolant pump -V51-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:

t  Hose connections and air pipes and hoses must be free from oil and grease before fitting.
t  Secure hose unions with hose clamps the same as those of the series → Electronic parts catalogue.
t  To ensure that the air hoses can be properly secured at their connections, spray rust remover onto the worm thread of used hose clips before installing.
–  Check coolant level → Anchor.
