Cleaning throttle valve moduleJ338
Cleaning throttle valve module -J338-
  Note
t  The throttle valve module must be adapted if a new engine control unit -J623- is installed.
t  Take care not to scratch the throttle valve housing when cleaning it.
–  Remove throttle valve module -J338- → Chapter.
   
–  Open throttle valve by hand and block it in the open position with a suitable object (e.g. plastic or wooden wedge) -arrow-.
  WARNING
Acetone is highly inflammable. Respect the accident prevention regulations and the safety indications when working with highly inflammable liquids. Do not use compressed air to clean the throttle valve. Use protective goggles and clothing to prevent injuries and contact with the skin.

–  Clean the throttle valve housing, especially in the area -arrows- where the throttle valve closes, using basically commercially available acetone (DIN 53247) and a small brush.
–  Wipe off throttle valve housing using a lint-free cloth.
–  Wait for the acetone to evaporate completely and then fit the clean control unit.
–  Erase adaptive values, and adapt the engine control unit -J623- to the throttle control unit, → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051„guided functions“
