Check the tool and equipment equivalence table according to the applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Wrench -3217-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-0291
t  Tightening torque -V.A.G 1332-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removal:
The fuel tank must not be more than 1/2
–  Note safety precautions before starting work → Chapter
–  With the ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth strap.
–  Move rear seat forward.
–  Remove fuel delivery unit cap located beneath rear seat.
  WARNING
Fuel supply pipes are pressurised. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury and contact with skin. Before loosening hose connections, wrap a cloth around the connection. Then eliminate the pressure by carefully separating the pipe.

–  Disconnect the connector -1- as well as the supply and return line (blue) -2- and supply line (black) -3- from the flange. Push the buttons on the fuel hose coupling for this purpose.
  Note
Press in safety ring to release fuel lines.

–  Use union nut tool -3217- to unscrew union nut.
–  Pull fuel delivery unit and seal out of their housing in fuel tank.
  Note
If the fuel delivery unit is to be renewed then drain the old unit before disposal.
Fitting .
–  The installation of the fuel delivery unit is carried out in the reverse order.
  Note
t  When inserting the fuel delivery unit ensure that the fuel gauge sender is not bent -G-.
t  Insert dry seal for fuel delivery unit into opening of fuel tank.
t  Moisten seal with fuel only when installing fuel delivery unit.
t  Check that the fuel hoses sit firmly.

t  After installing fuel delivery unit, check that the supply, return -2- and supply pipes -3- are still clipped onto fuel tank.
t  Observe the fitting position of the fuel delivery unit flange Mark on flange must align with mark on fuel tank -arrows-.
t  After installing fuel delivery unit, check that the supply, return and breather pipes are still clipped onto fuel tank.
t  After replacing the fuel delivery unit, the system should be bled → Chapter.
