Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Collecting tray -VAS 6208-, see equivalent → Anchor

t  Pliers for spring-loaded band-type clamps -VAS 6499-, see equivalent → Anchor
Removing
  WARNING
Steam may be released when opening the expansion tank. Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury to eyes and burns. Cover the cap with a cloth and open carefully.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove toothed belt → Chapter.

–  Unscrew coolant pump securing bolts -1-, and remove coolant pump -2-.
–  Remove O-ring -3-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; noting the following in the process:
–  Renew O-ring.
–  Clean and smooth sealing surface for O-ring as required.

–  Moisten new O-ring -3- with coolant.
–  Fit coolant pump -2-.
l  Fitting position: Housing plug points downwards.
–  Tighten coolant pump bolts -1-.
–  Install toothed belt → Chapter.
–  Fill up coolant → Chapter.

  A19-0084
