Operation process
  WARNING
The fuel pressure sender is under pressure. Wear safety goggles and protective clothing to avoid possible injury and skin contact. Before detaching the fuel pressure sender, place a cloth around the connection point. Then release pressure by carefully relieving pressure.
–  Fuel pressure sender -G247- removal → Chapter
  W00-10675
–  Unscrew the sealing plug -2- and screw in the fuel pressure sender -G247- into pressure tester -VAS 6394/1-. Tightening torque: 22 Nm

–  Lubricate the taper seal of the adapter -VAS 6294/2- with clean engine oil and screw into the fuel rail. Tightening torque: 22 Nm
  N24-10399
–  Connect the pressure line of the pressure tester -VAS 6394/1- to the adapter -VAS 6394/2-.
–  Connect the fuel pressure sender-1- and the electric connector of the fuel pressure sender with the testing adapter -VAS 5570-.
–  Reinstall the cover trim of the motor / air filter and connect the air mass gauge -G70-.
  N24-10401
–  Switch on the pressure tester -VAS 6394/1-. Briefly press the -A- button for this purpose.
  Note
t  If the -A- button is pressed for 2 seconds, the lighting illuminates for 20 seconds.
t  If the pressure tester -VAS 6394/1- does not indicate 0 bar, calibrate the tester by setting to zero → Operating instructions.
–  Connect the vehicle tester to the diagnosis connection.
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Select the following options one after another on the display of the vehicle diagnosis device:
Vehicle self-diagnosis
Self-diagnosis
01 - Engine electronics
011 - Measured values
–  Select the measured value block 140 and confirm with Q button.
The actual value is displayed via the fuel pressure sender -G247- in display zone 3.
–  Start the engine.
–  The value displayed on the pressure tester -VAS 6394/1- is compared with the pressure displayed on the vehicle diagnosis device.
l  The pressure difference should not be more than 5 bar.
–  When the difference is more then 5 bar, the fuel pressure sender -G247- must be replaced.
  WARNING
The pressure tester -VAS 6394- is under high fuel pressure. Disconnect the connector from the fuel pressure sender -G247- when the engine is running. This should result in the fuel pressure dropping to approx. 6 bar. Switch ignition OFF. Wrap a clean cloth around the fuel pressure sender -G247- and then dissipate the residual pressure by carefully loosening the fuel pressure sender -G247-.
–  Repeat the check with the new fuel pressure sender -G247- and compare both measurement values.
If the values still do not correspond:
–  Check the lines → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
