  Note
t  Radiator and charge air cooler are two separate components.
t  The radiator is located above the charge air cooler.
t  Radiator and charge air cooler are removed and installed together.

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007A-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Base -VAS 6340-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.
t  Centre guide -3411-, see equivalent

Removing
–  Separate the under body protection.
   
–  Loosen the spring-type clip -arrow- and remove the coolant hose.

–  Loosen the spring-type clip -arrow- and remove the coolant hose.

–  Unplug electrical connector -arrow-.

–  Open the hose guides in the cowling using the -2- and press the coolant hose to the side -1-.

–  Disengage cowling with radiator fan -V7- from locking hook using a suitable tool.
–  Push cowling together with radiator fan -V7- upwards out of the mountings and remove downwards.
–  Remove the upper coolant hoses of the radiator and charged air cooler.
–  Unplug the plug connector of the radiator outlet coolant temperature sender -G83-.
–  Remove the front bumper cover → Exterior body installation work; Rep. gr.63

–  Unscrew securing bolts -arrows-.
–  Bring lock plate carrier into service position: → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.50.
–  Remove the radiator from the lower tabs and press a little to the back.
–  Separate the lateral radiator coolant bracket.

–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- attaching the condenser to the radiator.

–  Extract the attachment bolts -arrows- of the condenser.
–  Fasten the condenser to the lock carrier using the cable tie.
–  Remove the radiator and charged air cooler to the bottom.
  Note
To prevent damage to condenser or to refrigerant lines/hoses, ensure that the lines and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.

Separate the the radiator from the intercooler.
–  For separating the intercooler -1- from the cooler, press the locking element using a suitable tool.

–  Move the intercooler -1- to the right and remove from the cooler -2-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
  WARNING
Make sure that the locking elements have been connected correctly from the radiator to the supercharger.
–  Electrical connections and cable layout: → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
–  Bring lock plate carrier into service position: → Bodywork, exterior fitting work; Rep. gr.50.
Method for filling fresh coolant → Chapter.
