Components of the cooling system: Removing and installing |
Caution t
| When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions: |
t
| All the various lines (e.g. fuel, coolant, refrigerant, vacuum and electrical wiring) must be installed so that their original positions are reproduced. |
t
| In order to avoid damage to the lines, ensure sufficient clearance for all moving or hot components. |
|
Note t
| When the engine is hot the cooling system is under pressure. If necessary, relieve pressure before commencing repair work. |
t
| Hoses are secured with spring-type clips. In case of repair, only use spring-type clips. |
t
| Hose clip pliers -VAS 6340- are recommended for fitting spring-type hose clips. |
t
| Coolant hoses should be free from tension when installing, so that they do not come into contact with other components (observe markings on coolant connection and hose). |
Perform cooling system leakage check with cooling system tester -VAG 1274B- and the adaptor -VAG 1274/8- and the adaptor -VAG 1274/9-. |
