Fuel pressure senderG247: check
Fuel pressure sender -G247-: check
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Pressure gauge -VAS 6394-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-10675
t  Polygonal wrench with 3/8´´ ratchet, 27 mm, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Adapter -VAS 5570-, see equivalent → Anchor
Operation process
  WARNING
The injection system is in a high pressure system (max. approx. 120 bar) and a low pressure system (approx. 6 bar).
The fuel pressure in the high-pressure section must be reduced to a residual pressure of 6 bar prior to opening the high-pressure system. The work procedure for this is described in the chapter where the pressure reduction in the high pressure system is described → Chapter.
  N24-10478
–  Disconnect the connector -1- and remove the fuel pressure sender -G247--2- using an open ring spanner.
  N24-10629
–  Lubricate the taper seal of the adapter -VAS 6394/3- with clean engine oil and screw into the fuel rail. Tightening torque: 22 Nm
  N24-10630
–  Unscrew the sealing plug -2- and screw in the fuel pressure sender -G247- into pressure tester -VAS 6394-. Tightening torque: 22 Nm
–  Connect the pressure line of the pressure tester -VAS 6394/1- to the adapter -VAS 6394/3-.
  N24-10400
–  Connect the fuel pressure sender -1- and its connector to the adapter for the testing function -VAS 5570-.
  N24-10494
–  Switch on the pressure tester -VAS 6394/1- by pressing the switch -A- once.
  Note
t  If the -A- button is pressed for 2 seconds, the lighting illuminates for 20 seconds.
t  If the pressure tester -VAS 6394/1- does not indicate 0 bar, calibrate the tester by setting to zero → Operating instructions.
–  Connect the vehicle tester to the diagnosis connection.
–  Switch on the ignition.
–  Select the following options one after another on the display of the vehicle tester:
Vehicle self-diagnosis
Self-diagnosis
01 - Engine electronics
011 - Measured values
–  Select the measured value block 140 and confirm with Q.
The actual value is displayed via the fuel pressure sender -G247- in display zone 3.
–  Start the engine.
–  The value displayed on the pressure tester -VAS 6394/1- is compared with the pressure displayed on the diagnosis device of the vehicle.
l  The pressure difference should not be more than 5 bar.
–  When the difference is more then 5 bar, the fuel pressure sender -G247- must be replaced.
–  Repeat the check with the new fuel pressure sender -G247- and compare both measurement values.
If the values still do not correspond:
–  Checking the wiring → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
