Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Guide sleeve -T20097-
Remove sealing flange:
–  Remove the gearbox → Rep. gr.34.
–  Remove the flywheel or drive plate.
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
   
–  Remove sealing flange -arrows- .
Installing sealing flange:
Sheet plate seal specifications:
t  No centring pin
t  Sealing profile faces the gearbox
t  The screws are shorter than with an aluminium ring
  Note
t  Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal.
t  When a sheet plate flange should be mounted instead of an aluminium sealing flange, the centring pins must be removed and shorter screws must be used → ETKA (electronic spare parts catalogue).
–  Clean sealing surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.
–  Use clean cloth to wipe off oil residue at crankshaft journal.

–  Fit guide sleeve -T20097- onto camshaft journal.
–  Push the seal over the guide sleeve -T20097- onto the crankshaft journal.
  N13-10333
–  Tighten the attachment bolts to 15 Nm -arrows-.
–  Install sump → Chapter.
Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling sequence.
