Removing and installing Poly-V belt
Removing:
  Caution
Risk of breakage if the poly V-belt runs in the opposite direction when refitted.
Before removing, mark direction of operation of poly V-belt with chalk or felt-tipped pen in preparation for re-installation.
–  Remove the sound insulation → Bodywork, exterior installation work; Rep. gr.50
   
–  Separate charge air hose -A- at push-fit coupling -arrow- and place to one side.

–  To slacken poly V-belt turn tensioner from below in direction of -arrow-.
–  Secure tensioner with locking pin -T10060 A-.
–  Take out poly V-belt.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; noting the following in the process:

Tighten alternator and A/C compressor mountings before fitting poly-V-belt.

–  Fit poly V-belt onto crankshaft pulley first, then onto air conditioner compressor and alternator.

–  Turn tensioner slightly with ring spanner and remove locking pin -T10060 A-.
–  Release pressure from tensioner.
–  Check that poly V-belt is properly seated.
–  Install charge air hose.
–  Start engine and check that poly V-belt runs properly.
