Separating silencer

Note

The cutting point is marked on the exhaust tube.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Pneumatic sabre saw -V.A.G 1523 A-

t	Chain pipe cutter -VAS 6254-

WARNING

Wear safety goggles and appropriate clothing to avoid injury caused by metal shavings.

–	Make perpendicular cut through exhaust pipe at separating point -arrow- using body saw -V.A.G 1523 A-, for example.

–	Position the clamping sleeve between the side markings when installing.

–	Install the clamp sleeve so that ends of bolts do not protrude beyond bottom of clamp sleeve.

–	Tighten the screw connection on the clamping sleeve evenly to 35 Nm.
