| Unscrew 2 bolts -arrows-. |

| Carefully take out the high-pressure fuel pump. Sometimes the roller tappet can hang in the cylinder head. |

| The roller tappet must be positioned at the lowest point when installing the high-pressure pump. |

| If the old high-pressure pump is re-installed, or if a used pump is installed, the connecting piece for the fuel supply pipe (high-pressure section of the system) must be renewed. High-pressure pump - assembly overview → Item. |

| Renew O-ring for high-pressure pump. |

| Fit roller tappet in exhauster pump (check roller tappet for damage first). |

| Turn crankshaft until roller tappet is positioned at lowest point. |

| Insert high-pressure pump into vacuum pump. |

| Tighten bolts hand-tight. |
–
| Renew connecting piece at high-pressure pump. |
–
| Now tighten bolts in diagonal sequence to specified torque. |
–
| Tighten union nut on fuel supply pipe hand-tight, »align tension-free« and then tighten. |
