High-pressure pump with fuel pressure regulating valve -N276- - Assembly overview
  WARNING
The fuel system is pressurised. The pressure in the high-pressure components of the injection system must be reduced to a residual pressure prior to opening.
High pressure system pressure reduction → Chapter.
   
1 - Tappet with roller
q   May remain lodged in cylinder head when high-pressure pump is removed; it can be removed
2 - O ring
q   replace
3 - Single piston high pressure pump
q   An electric fuel pump (fitted in fuel tank) supplies fuel to the mechanical high-pressure pump at a pressure of approx. 6 bar.
q   When installing the high-pressure fuel pump, it is essential to ensure that no dirt enters the fuel system.
q   The fuel system must not be under pressure; procedure for reducing fuel pressure → Chapter
q   Fuel pipes must be free of tension when installed.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
4 - Fuel pressure regulating valve -N276-
5 - Cylinder head gap for high-pressure pump
6 - Injectors
q   Renew O-rings
q   Ensure correct installation position
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
7 - Hall sender -G40-
8 - Camshaft control valve 1 -N205-
9 - Bolts for high-pressure pump
q   replace
q   M6 thread = 8 Nm + 90°
q   M8 thread = 20 Nm.
10 - Connecting piece for fuel supply line from fuel tank
11 - Connecting piece for fuel pipe to fuel rail
q   replace
q   22 Nm
