Exhaust manifold: Removing and installing > < Centre and secondary silencers: Separate
Removing and installing front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter
Removing and installing front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter
   
Removal:
–  Unscrew the three bolts of the right underbody trim -arrows-.
  N26-10379
–  Disconnect electrical connection -1- from the lambda probe after the catalytic converter -G130-.
–  Take the connector out of the retainer -2- and lay the lambda probe free.

–  Remove front crosspiece from vehicle underbody -arrows-.
  Note
The connecting elements of the front exhaust pipe must not be bent more than 10°, otherwise they could be damaged!
–  Disconnect the exhaust system at clamp -1-.

–  Unbolt exhaust system retainer -arrow-.

–  Unbolt heat shield for right-hand side driveshaft -arrows-.

–  Unscrew the securing nuts -arrows- for the exhaust primary tube/exhaust manifold .
–  Detach front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; noting the following in the process:

Always gaskets and self-locking nuts.

–  Fasten the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold using the tightening sequence shown.
–  Align exhaust system without tension → Chapter

1) Renew self-locking nuts
