–  Remove cover from fuse holder.
–  Remove fuse no. 41 from the fuse holder.

–  Connect remote control -V.A.G 1348/3A- with Adapter -SAT 1348/3-3- to contact 41a to fuel pump and battery positive terminal (+).
  Caution

–  Fit adaptor -V.A.G 1318/11- and -V.A.G 1318/23- to the pressure gauge and place the end of the pressure regulator in a measuring container.
–  Close pressure gauge cut-off tap (lever at right angle to direction of flow -B-).
–  Operate remote control at short intervals until a pressure of 3 bar has built up.
  Caution
Danger of spray when opening the shut-off tap, hold container over the pressure gauge free connection.
–  If pressure builds up too high, lower excess pressure by carefully opening the shut-off tap.
–  Observe pressure drop on gauge. After 10 minutes the pressure must not drop below 2.5 bar.
If the pressure drops further:
–  Check pipe connections for leaks.
If no leaks are found:
–  Check the fuel delivery unit → Chapter.
