Oil filter bracket: removing and fitting t  Removing → Anchor t  Installing → Anchor Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Tray -T20173-

t  attachment tool -T20174- Removing   WARNING Hot vapour/hot coolant may escape when opening expansion tank. Cover cap with cloth and open carefully. –  Open cap on coolant expansion tank.

–  Detach engine cover -arrows-.

–  Remove central soundproofing -Anchorage points 1 ... 3-. –  Place the Drip tray -T20173- under engine.

Engines BLR, BLY –  Turn drain plug -arrow- on radiator anti-clockwise, if necessary fit drain hose to connection.

Engines BVY, BVZ Release the quick connection -arrow-, and remove the coolant hose from the radiator. Continue for all engines

–  Disconnect the connector -1- of the oil pressure sender -F1-. –  Additionally take coolant hose on lower part of oil cooler off -2- and drain off remaining coolant.

–  Remove the air intake hose -arrow- at the bottom at the resonance pipe. To do this, release the spring clamp using the counterhold -T20174- and bolt-1-.

–  Remove the flexible tube -1- from the air filter housing. –  Disconnect the connector -2- in the air filter housing. –  Remove bolt -3-. –  Disconnect the air hose -4- from throttle valve module. To do this, release the spring clamp using the counterhold -T20174-. –  Take out air cleaner housing. –  Now remove the intake manifold → Chapter.

–  Pull connector -1- out of bracket and set wiring aside. –  Release the support cable for the intake manifold. –  Remove the intake manifold holder and unscrew bolts -2 ... 4- for this purpose.

–  Remove the coolant pipe -arrow- from the coolant tube.

–  Remove the coolant pipe -1- from the coolant tube. –  Unscrew bolts -2- and -3- and detach coolant pipe.

–  Remove oil radiator -arrows-

–  Unscrew bolts -1- and -2- and take the oil filter bracket off. Installing Continue the installation in the reverse order of removal sequence, observing the following:   Note t  Renew gaskets and seals. t  Secure all the hose joints by using the same clamps as originally fitted → ETKA (electronic parts catalogue). –  Fit the anti-surge valve → Item.

–  Install the oil filter bracket and tighten all screws -1 and 2- equally to 15 Nm.   Note The earth line for the oil pressure switch must be fixed to screw -2-. –  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
