t  Fitting tool -T10122-
Seal: removing
–  Remove gearbox → Rep. gr.34.
–  Remove the flywheel or drive plate.
–  Remove sump → Chapter.

–  Remove sealing flange -arrows- .
Fit the sealing flange
Aluminium seal specifications:
t  Centring pins are required in the cylinder block
t  Sealing profile faces the engine
t  The screws are shorter than with a sheet plate seal
  Note
t  Do not grease or oil the seal lip of the seal
t  When an aluminium sealing ring should be mounted instead of a sheet plate seal, the centring pins must be inserted and longer screws must be used → ETKA (electronic parts catalogue).
–  Clean sealing surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.
–  Remove oil residue from crankshaft journal using clean cloth.
–  Fit assembly sleeves -T10122/1- and -T10122/2- together.

–  Push outer side of sealing flange -A- onto assembly sleeves.
–  Separate assembly sleeves.

–  Place the sealing flange -A- with the assembly sleeve -T10122/2- onto the crankshaft and push the sealing flange onto the crankshaft journal.

–  Tighten the attachment bolts to 15 Nm -arrows-.
–  Fit the oil sump → Chapter.
Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling sequence.
