Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Ultrasonic cleaning unit -VAS 6418-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Injector-pump units placement plate -VAS 6418/3-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Cleaning product Feroclean -D 600 200 A2-
  Note
t  To clean the unit injectors it is imperative to use the unit injector placement plate -VAS 6418/3-. In no way should you submerge the whole injector-pump unit in the cleaning fluid.
t  The injector-pump units should be placed in service the same day they were cleaned.
t  It is recommended to use hot water from the tap and place the unit cover to reduce the heating time of the cleaning fluid.
t  Replace the cleaning fluid each week and clean 5 sets of injector-pump units as a maximum for each batch of fluid.
t  Refill the evaporated cleaning fluid with tap water.
t  Do not use the fluid to clean other components.
t  Do not clean the outside of the injector-pump units mechanically (with a metallic brush, abrasive, etc.).
t  Replace the O-rings, the round head bolts and the holding and adjusting screws.
Operation process
  E23-10013
–  Close the key -arrow- of the ultrasonic cleaning unit -VAS 6418- in the right side of the casing.
–  Fill the cleaning unit with 1,870 ml of tap water and 330 ml of the cleaning product Tickopur -D 600 300 A2-.

–  Place the injector-pump units placement plate -VAS 6418/3- over the cleaning unit.
  WARNING
Respect the safety instructions of the user manual before placing the ultrasonic cleaning unit -VAS 6418- in use.
When the cleaning fluid is found approximately 1--10 mm above the bottom of the placement plate the level is ideal. If the level is insufficient you may damage the ultrasonic cleaning unit -VAS 6418-.
–  Place the injector-pump units in the placement plate guides.
–  Switch the cleaning unit on pressing the key On/Off-C-.

–  Turn the temperature rotary knob -B- until the luminous indicator signals 70ºC (heating temperature).
–  Place the functioning time rotary knob -A- in “∞”-arrow- (continuous function).

–  Press -D- for more than 2 seconds and it turns the unit on.
  Note
Now the cleaning controlled by temperature is activated. During the heating time the ultrasonics is switched on at intervals for the cleaning fluid recirculation. Once the preselected temperature is reached the ultrasonics is on continuously. The cleaning procedure should take at least 120 minutes. The time will be taken from the point the temperature of 70 °C is reached.
–  After these 120 minutes, stop the cleaning procedure pressing the key -D-.
–  Remove the injector-pump units from the bearing plate and leave them to air-dry for at least 1 hour.
–  Again mount the injector-pumps → Chapter.
  Caution
Do not put the injector pump units into operation before the 2 hours since the cleaning procedure have elapsed to prevent possible corrosion caused by the cleaning agent.
