  Note
After work on the rear brake, release the hand brake and press once forcefully on the foot brake.

1 - Plate spring
q   To remove press it against the spring and turn 90º
2 - Spring
3 - Brake shoe with lever for hand brake
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   Adjusting handbrake → Chapter
4 - Upper return spring,
q   Release with spring pliers
5 - Lower return spring
q   Grease all support points with grease → Parts catalogue
6 - Spring
7 - Brake shoe
q   removing and fitting → Chapter.
q   Min. lining thickness: 2.5 mm
q   Check the thickness → Booklet
q   Always replace by axles
q   The linings can also be supplied without brake shoes
8 - Closing cap
q   Remove to check lining thickness
9 - Tensioning bolt
10 - Brake back plate
11 - 8 Nm
12 - Wheel brake cylinder
q   Seal: verification → Fig.
13 - Wedge
q   To remove and fit, press the brake drum upwards through one of the bolt holes in the wheel → Chapter
14 - Push rod
q   Grease all support points with grease → Parts catalogue
15 - Contact spring
q   Release with spring pliers

   
Wheel brake cylinder: checking the seal
–  Unclip dust cover.
–  If brake fluid is found on the dust cover, replace the brake wheel cylinder.
When removing dust cover make sure it does not get damaged.
