If the brake pads are to be re-used, before removing them from the brake carrier, mark their positions for posterior fitting. Put them back in the same positions, otherwise, the braking effect will not be even.

Remove wheels.

Remove securing bolts from brake calliper, when doing this counter-hold on guide pins.

Remove brake caliper and secure with wire so that weight of brake caliper does not strain or damage brake hose.

Remove brake pads and pad retainers -arrows-.
Cleanliness:
WARNING
Never clean the brake system with compressed air; harmful dust particles will be released.

Thoroughly clean the application surface for the pad retention plate (brake pads) on the brake calliper, remove any corrosion.

Clean the brake calliper.
Use only methylated spirits for cleaning the brake caliper housing.
