Revolution sensor, rear axle: fitting and removal (vehicles with disc brakes) > < Check the revolution sensor rotor on the rear axle (vehicles with drum brakes up to 09.00)

1 - Allen head bolt
q   8 Nm
2 - Revolution sensor rear left/right -G44-/-G46-
q   Checked by self-diagnosis → VAS 5051
q   Before fitting the sensor, clean the interior seating surface and coat with G 000 650 lubricating paste
q   When fitting revolution sensors make sure that the cables are not twisted when inserted into the wheel housing
q   The rotors and front revolution sensors on both sides are identical
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Revolution sensor cable: removing and installing → Chapter
3 - Axle stub
q   Straightening is forbidden!
q   The thread must not be repaired!
4 - Cover plate
5 - Hexagon bolt
q   With plate spring
q   30 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) re-tighten
q   Renew after removing
6 - Star-head screw
q   4 Nm
7 - Brake disc
q   Note the version → Chapter
8 - Protective cap
q   Removing and refitting: → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. Gr.42
q   Renew after removing
For perfect sealing always use a new dust sleeve cover.
This is the only way to ensure a long and trouble-free life.
9 - Twelve-sided nut
q   175 Nm
q   Renew after removing
10 - Wheel bearing /wheel hub
q   With wheel hub and rotor for revolution sensor
q   Revolution sensor rotor → Chapter
q   aus- und einbauen: → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. Gr.42
The bearing and wheel hub are together in one casing.
These wheel bearings/Wheel hubs do not need inspection and have no play. They cannot be adjusted or repaired!
