Removing
Observe instructions for ABS repairs → Chapter.
–  With ignition switched off disconnect battery earth strap.
  Note!
To carry out this work it will be necessary to disconnect battery earth strap. For this reason it will be necessary to check whether the vehicle is fitted with a coded radio. If so, the anti-theft code must be previously recorded.

–  Disconnect revolution sensor cable -1- from revolution sensor.
–  Remove the wheelarch cover.
–  Remove the side covers: → General body repairs, assembly work, interior; Rep. Gr.70.

–  Disconnect the revolution sensor cable -arrows- with the wire-stripping pliers of the -VAS 1978- and remove the cable.

–  Strip the last 15 mm of the cable with the stripping pliers and bend the stripped portion in half.
Installation
–  Put the revolution sensor cable through again.
–  Connect the revolution sensor cable.

–  Locate the revolution sensor connector -arrows-. When fitting the revolution sensor cable make sure it is not twisted when inserting into the wheel housing.
–  Remove the two-pin connector, if present, from the new revolution sensor cable with the wire stripping pliers.

–  Strip the last 15 mm of the cable with the stripping pliers and bend the stripped portion in half.
–  Join the revolution sensor cable with the pressure tool from the -VAS 1978- wire harness repair case.
–  Remove the side covers: → General body repairs, assembly work, interior; Rep. Gr.70.
